Today i was a the pet store looking at some 6 week old
baby gerbils which brings me to my first question. How
many gerbils can you have in a ten gallon tank and how
many in a 20 gallon long? Well as my daughter and
wife was loking at the gerbils i went over to the
hamsters to look. And there in the dwarf hammys was a
very odd looking one. At first i noticed his one eye
looked smaller then the other and his face was kinda
lopsided. Then i noticed his tail was longer than the
others and the total shock was i front right paw and
hand was totally ummm disfigured. I asked one of the
workers and he said he was born odd and beleive it or
not he can eat and get around allright but he dosent
think anyone will buy him. He also thinks that it was
some kind of birth defect and that he would not live
long. Well i went home and that hammy kept comming
into my mind. So there i found myself digging out my
old 5 gallon tank and i called the store and told them
that i would be there in the morning to but him. I
have set down with my six year old daughter to ezplain
that the hamster need love like all the other ones.
And that he may not live long and she said dont worry
daddy we will nurse it to health. She already has a
name for the hamster and it will be Tripod. So know
come Fri morning i will own 4 gerbils and two
hamsters. I might have more gerbils because as most of
you know i think one of my gerbils Templeton is a she
and pregant
