Do not use cardboard that was used for storage in the freezer. This type of
cardboard contains a wax coating. Also do not use egg cartons. If the eggs
contain Salmonella, it can be transmitted to the carton.

Stick to cereal boxes, macaroni & cheese boxes, or even noodle boxes. Be
sure any plastic windows are removed. I also tear off the flaps so the
gerbils don't chew on all that glue.
