If I remember correctly, Cindy mentioned that Jerry lived by himself for
three years before being introduced to Mrs. Jerry. Sounds like Jerry must
be at least 3 and a half years old.
I thought it was best to not introduce a young gerbil to an old gerbil. The
young gerbil may sense the older one is weaker and may start a fight
resulting in death.
If Cindy decides to keep him from the female, it may be best to keep him by
himself but be sure to give him lots of attention.
Maybe the problem with the pups is the mother is old to the point to where
she isn't producing healthy pups and Jerry is just trying to keep the nest
clean. Any idea as to how old Mrs. Jerry is?
