I have a cute story to add....I brought home two babies one time who were
very skittish.....they squeaked constantly and were very scared (pet store).
(Yes they were 5 wks or so, not just weaned). I had a big industrial
tube/cardboard tunnel that I gave them as a house and when I went to catch
them, I used it to catch them while they were settling in. They would run
in, I would scoop them up, and they would run out on my hand. Anyway my
black female used to also pop straight up in the air to the top of the cage
so she taught herself to jump into the tunnel if I raised it up off the
floor, even holding it pretty high. She would jump right on in like a dog
thru a hoop! I have since learned to teach other youngsters to do it but
none like she did! She also built her nest for her first litter up in a
wheel in a skyscraper tube system we had set up for them later on.....she
was quite a character. Dont worry the pups were not born in the wheel after
all!
