We lost Frodo very early this morning. It was very
sudden. Last night my husband noticed that he was
listless. He even ignored the popcorn he was offered
as a treat. He did perk up when we held him and
accepted a few pieces of carrot. I thought maybe he
was just sleepy. About 1:30 this morning my husband
saw him start shaking badly. He said it was pretty
hard to watch. By the time he got to the tank and got
the lid off, Frodo was quiet again. He took a couple
more breaths and then he was gone. I don't know what
caused it but on examining his body we felt a hard
area on his left side that did not have a
corresponding area on his right side, so I suspect he
had a tumor. He was two months shy of his second
birthday.
Bilbo and Sam seem all right this morning but we will
be keeping a very close eye on them.
