sorry but I just have to tell someone that might be at least a little interested.....   after looking at some web pages displaying gerbil colours I have come to the conclusion that Bob is a colourpoint slate (aa,cbcb,gg), Shy is a slate (aa,Ccb,gg) and Blanche is a light ivory cream (AA,C[cb?],gg,pp) this is also backed up by the colours of their pups (Blanche's 3 grey agouti's and one pearl[?] so far and Shy's 5 slates and 3 colourpint slates) [yes she had four not three pups in her second litter, I must make the nest box more accessible]   I also have them in two set-ups now (Blanche, Bob and Malky, and Shy and the rest off the pups [I want to keep one of the females in with her])
