Hi,

My girlfriend, who keeps gerbils just like i do, wants to introduce a
third (and perhaps a fourth) gerbil to two others she already has.

She has two males of aproximatly one year old and who are from the same
litter. The cage is 80cmx40cmx40cm big and I think there is room for a
third and fourth in that cage.

Our question is now: Can it be done, how should it be done and how old
should the young gerbils be when they are introduced. On the internet and
in books there is a lot of discussion but also quite some contradictionary
advices on how it should be done. (like the split cages and others)

Can anyone help us?

Yours
Gert and Marjolein
