A.) Research supply. A research project needing live animals.
B.) Contract to fill. Either research, wholesale distribution to stores,
or as live animal food.
C.) Setting up a breeding rodentry. To go into wholesale and resell
live stock to store distribution. I sure hope they know what they're
doing, as it can be rather labor intensive AND if a disease goes
through, catastrophic.
D.) None of the above.
My guess is they got a contract and think they can get gerbils cheap
off the private breeders to fill it.
