I read in a gerbil care book that if the tuft hair is
lost or removed that it won't grow back.  I that true.
 I love a full tuft!

PS -- when they look identical I just sex them a 7
days so I know how many girls and boys, then at 5-6
weeks I can tell the boys again (and it helps that I
know how many I am looking for).
