soil and red noses

i am "baking" the soil right now. I don't smell anything yet. :-)
i will put 3 gerbils who had the worse infection to the soil-tank. Other
3 will stay in the paper&cardboard-tank. Then i'll see.
Can i ask the people that have soil in the tanks, how much cleaning is
nesecary?
