I put 4 gerbils on soil and other 2 that were the worse on paper-only. And they
are all fine. Only the 2 are lonely i think they aren't so energic now. But i
think they will soon get company by pups. :-)
The first hour that the 4 gerbils were on soil (dirt) they didn't know what to
do. :-) They were running around and smelling the dirt... And even now they
don't know how to dig in the soil. They dig only in the corners. :-( They have
about 4 inches of dirt in the tank.
One more question: how do you feed gerbils with "old" bread when they are on
soil? Pieces of bread last only few minutes in my tank, they it is just a black
ball that no gerbil wants to feed with.
