That's funny because the only instance I've ever had of seizures, where it seemed 
hereditary (roughly half of the offspring were affected to a greater or lesser degree) 
was with a total outcross. (And I know it was total as the mother was from European 
lines, her parents imported, and the
male was a run of the mill US gerb) It would lead one to believe it was dominant, 
except neither parent ever seizured! (Neither did some of their relatives that I had) 
Must be complex.
