This isn't a question so much as a comment.. I have had many many gerbils over the years and they are friendly, but they nip when they want DOWN NOW or when they get nervous.
My current little boy, Percil, is the sweetest thing! He will not bite ever. He climbs up in my hand and falls asleep. I walk around the house cleaning etc. with a limp cuddly gerbil in one hand. He is perfectly healthy, just so sweet. What went right? His little brown mate will not hesitate to give a little nip if she is displeased. (Percil's one bad habil is nails. He LOVES nails. He will lie in my hand being all sweet, but his eyes are on my nail, and as soon as it is close enough, he grabs my finger with both hands, holds on TIGHTLY and bites right through my poor nail.. he seems to think it's sport.
Anyone have a gerbil who acts similar?
