I am new to gerbils, so don't know much.  I do know that garlic is bad for hamster's kidneys & would assume that the same might be true for gerbils.

Is it okay to feed a gerbil garlic?  Would they eat it?  I heard garlic helps get rid of fleas and mites with cats and dogs.  Garlic is supposed to have anti-viral properties too.  How would you suggest administering it?  Liquid in the water bottle?  Powder on their food?  I think a fresh clove might be too potent.  Maybe dehydrated slices?  I have noticed other dehydrated veggies (and fruits) in store bought gerbil foods.
