>> Is it okay to feed a gerbil garlic? Would they eat it? I heard
garlic helps get rid of fleas and mites with cats and dogs. Garlic is
supposed to have anti-viral properties too. How would you suggest
administering it? Liquid in the water bottle? Powder on their food? I
think a fresh clove might be too potent. Maybe dehydrated slices? I have
noticed other dehydrated veggies (and fruits) in store bought gerbil foods.

gerbils.

Garlic is a miracle herb but I would not suggest using it (in oil, spray,
or prepared) directly in or on a gerbil cage.

If *YOU* can stand it, a few peeled cloves OUTSIDE the cage where
they couldn't reach it might help repel other things. Just make sure
the other inhabitants of the house can't get to it either (like dogs and
cats or small kids).

I prefer to put my garlic in my spagetti sauce and not share. :)

where I had some garlic cloves sitting was about the only
place I *didn't* find any of them. I'd rather zap mites with
pyrenthin spray though.]
