You've pushed several of my buttons here, but I will
choose only one to swoop on and pounce....

Cotton? Like compressed cotton waste, or cotton balls
(looks like polyfiberfill?)?
This stuff can MAIM AND KILL!!!!!!!!!
NEVER give your animals anything with long fibers such
as cotton balls, polyfill, 'fluffy bedding' or compressed
cotton waste; or anything woven fabric.
The fibers can wrap around limbs and amputate, around
necks and strangle, and if ingested, will cause intestinal
obstructions and kill slowly and painfully over a few days.
And even if you've been using such stuff and you find
your animal 'just fine' right now, the odds are against
you and one day you'll find your animal badly hurt or dead
because of it.
Only give wood shavings (pine or aspen) and/or a few
sheets of unscented undyed toilet tissue or plain paper
towels for bedding and nesting material.
