What was the first new gerbil color you ever saw?

The first time I saw a new gerbil color, was in a pet
shop, located in the basement of a department store
[Newberry's].(1978?) They were a black and a DTW.
Several years prior to this I had Agoutis. :o( When I
saw them, I was fascinated and just had to have them.
I did see them in a gerbil book from the UK.
