Not from my own experience, but from what I've heard on the list, keeping 2 males with a female CAN be ok. I would definitely watch for signs of aggression though, just to be on the safe side. Also, keeping two males with one female, you will not know who the father of the pups are, BUT since they are both grey agoutis, and unless you know that the genetics of the two are different, in this case I don't think it will make much of a difference.
No, the kink will not affect the pups. It was probably caused when she was a small pup. Perhaps from being sat on. :) I have a pup like this also. He shows now signs of knowing that he is any different from the rest, and seems to have no problems getting around and doing normal gerbily things. This is in no way a genetic hand-me-down kind of thing. Hope this helps. Just make sure you thoroughly read up on normal gerbil behavior, if you decide to pursue keeping the 3 together. Good luck. -Jackie Hi list, I just got three gerbils. 2 Grey agouti males and a red fox pied female. Will all three be ok together? The female has a kink near the base of her tail. Is this ok? Will it affect the pups?
