I've got an older (3 years, if i remember correctly) lone female gerbil. She seems pretty perky, just less and less often. She still runs and chews and digs, but 80% of the time she just naps in her wheel. My questions are 1) Is this normal? I try to keep lots of chew things in her cage, to keep her entertained, but it's always in the wheel for her. 2) What are the nutritional/supplement, extra considerations should I give her? I'd like to make her elderly years as happy as her young ones, despite the loss of her cagemate several months ago.
