Gerbils do tend to slow down as they get older. Their bodies do not have the energy to allow their lives to be as active as they once were. Just keep her comfortable and in a quiet area. As long as everything else seems normal, the chances are that it is just her body telling her to take it easy. This tends to happen to most gerbils about this time, as I've seen it in all of my own. Do remember that three to four years is about an average lifespan for most captive gerbils. However, if she remains healthy, you could have her for up to another year or so.
