When i try to build geronimo by giving the command "maven" i am getting the error given below. Can anyone help me out in rectifying this error.

I haven't seen the error before, so I can't tell you what caused it. Despite this, the command I prefer when building Geronimo is: 'maven rebuild'. As I guess you've never built Geronimo before, you will have to use 'maven build' first.
Give it a try and tell us if it has worked for you. Perhaps, there's an issue with bare 'maven'.
Geronimo has just been built by myself with 'maven rebuild' so I can assure you that the command works properly (contrary to what others say).
/geronimo > maven rebuild ... BUILD SUCCESSFUL Total time: 16 minutes 15 seconds Finished at: Mon Jan 12 11:23:41 CET 2004
