Ubuntu Users Add ppa:jon-hedgerows/get-iplayer to your system's Software Sources and update in the normal way (with apt-get update/apt-get upgrade). Versions of ubuntu from Lucid Lynx onwards are supported. This ppa is described as "bleeding edge", though it's actually pretty stable, and includes: get_iplayer: updated to just beyond 2.80 (it's the tip of dinkypumpkin's repository as of last night) rtmpdump: 2.4 ffmpeg: a custom static build with enough fixes in to enable get_iplayer to work (this coexists with the stock ffmpeg installation) AtomicParlsey: 0.9.4 plus a few extra fixes - this version supports some extra tags that get_iplayer can now use the options file that's installed with this build of get_iplayer configures it to use the extras above.
