What should I put in my code to handle correctly this situation (not
slow the app and inform user the connexion is off) ?

My guess is the delay occurs while your app attempts a DNS lookup to
translate
mafreebox.freebox.fr to an ip address.

It is an internal (router) address, so I don't think any DNS is used.

The Get timeout probably doesn't start counting till it has an address.

Have you considered putting your playlist code into a thread or a timer, so
the rest of your code can continue?

I tried, nothing better happened.
What I would like is to check whether "internet is on" or "DSL is on", then only get the playlist.

BTW, do you know how (on a Mac) to ask the system whether some app is running, ask for which of its window(s) is open and what are their coordinates ?

Thanks!
