What exactly do you mean with svgalib4ggi ? The LibGGI SVGAlib-Wrapper (i.e.
the thing that replaces SVGAlib and makes it use LibGGI instead) ?

That sounds more like you mean the svgalib-target (i.e. the code that lets
LibGGI applications run via SVGAlib).

You can very probably run xggi on the SVGAlib target - at least I see no
plausible reason why it should fail, if the SVGAlib target works at all.

Hmm - I thought framebuffer devices were pretty common for PPC ?

Hmm - first check that SVGAlib is properly installed and working. If that
doesn't fix it, try forcing its use with --enable-svgalib. This should 
cause error messages while compiling. These might then help to track the 
problem.
