AFAIK, there is a KGIcon-driver for the Riva TNT available. If I am true,
it should work...

Yep. After untaring a snapshot, go there exists a sub-directory called
degas.
Go to

degas/kgicon/util/fbset/

and you will find the fbset-utility. Note: You have to compile it first.
There is also an example-file for the /etc/fb.modes -file. :)
Note: You have to change it to your system, especially to your monitor.

Well, not all. Someone has more know-ledge than others.
We have different specialists...

It depends, what you are looking for...

Oh, are you a beginner _only_ in the graphic-section?

Oh, I am really a beginner in the hardware-section, so I can learn from
you. The only one hardware I hacked, was a soundcard with ms-dos a long
time ago...

I am, too. :)
I believe, that everyone want to do that... :-)

Well, what are you interested in?

If you want to develop some drivers for graphic cards, then join into the
KGI-project (http://kgi.sourceforge.net).

If you want to learn something todo with 2d-graphic-stuff, then contact
John M. Taylor. He is the maintainer of libxmi.

If you want start doing something with lowlevel 3d-stuff, then
contact also John M. Taylor. He maintains also the GGIMesa and LibGGI3d.

If you want start doing something todo with highlevel 3d-stuff,
then contact me. My 3DtoolKit-project is the highlevel-part.
I can give you as much as details as you want about it.
