I've been lurking on this list for quite a while. I think GGI is the way
to go but as you said it needs some driving force.
I think there are two prolems GGI has:
1. Documentation is outdated/incomplete, so newbies get frustrated (I
stell can't get XGGI running on fbdev or kgicon, but that's for another
mail...)
2. GGI can't turn the whole world around. Try to integrate it into other
Systems. Is there a driver for XFree86-4.0 ? Can it be integrated into
XF-4.0 ? As soon as people will see, that writing drivers for X is
(nearly) the same as writing it for GGI (but these can even be used
without X), they'll will turn the world around.
Sorry, upto now I haven been contibuting to this projekt as my coding
skills in C aren't that high. But as soon as I have done my exams
(-18.9.2000) I'll could do some documentation in German (sorry my
English...).
