        Alternatively, you can do what I've done and run it on Linux using
WINE's DirectX emulation.  It requires some source tweaks and some
additional WINE-specific init code, but it does work and is a LOT more
convenient than setting up that huge Cygwin environment.  And I never
could get Mingw to work properly - apparently the project is only just now
getting back on its feet.
