I tried
(1) click the fuzzy select tool on the solid white area
(2) grow the selection by one pixel (to avoid a white halo at the end)
with select->grow selection
(3) feather the selection - I used 1 pixel but you might want 1.5 or 2
with select->feather
(4) edit->cut
