So, Yosemite has a "feature" that will automatically _not_ run apps that are from an 'unidentified' developer. This is _possibly_ what's happening here.
https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18657?locale=en_US So let's try this first: Using Finder, go to where you have the app (Applications folder). Use Finder, not Launcher to get there. Hold "Control" and click on the app icon, and choose "Open" from the shortcut menu. That should set the app as a exclusion to this policy. The app _should_ open now. Try that and report back.
