The thing is that at least on macOS, once you start nearing the edge of the 
window with the mouse cursor, it becomes a window-resize cursor and resizes the 
whole editor window and you cannot grab the sidebar edge (it would have to be 
extremely wide, say 6px to be able to grab it).

I have a WIP patch I'll post maybe later today that at least allows users to 
get out of this situation without having to edit the Geany config file.
