Thanks for the reviews @pitrou @edponce @jonkeane I'll tackle https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-13111?filter=12346440 next, in a follow up pull request. I believe we can slightly adapt the code to handle `ChunkedArray` of any number of chunks next.
