It should be as safe as we can get - that's what we would do if the restriction was unbounded anyways. Note that "truncate immediately" doesn't do anything to previously emitted values, it just won't update with new values after the periodic impulse self-checkpoints. Technically, you could run into some weirdness where you truncate the periodic impulse before the rest of your pipeline and your side input doesn't get updated; that's basically unavoidable though; there's no strategy for truncating that actually solves that since the periodic impulse is unaware of the rest of the pipeline, other than just never truncating. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
