Okay we'll leave it at that. In Java (I didn't try scala) the comparison
works correctly.

Long.MAX_VALUE == (double)Long.MAX_VALUE
```
returns `true`
I can't do the same comparison in Rust be the compiler forces me to do a
cast which is what you have done.
