Most of the benchmarks in dfbench will be redirected to the SQL benchmark suite, and their corresponding Rust-based implementations will be removed in the somewhat near future. However, dfbench itself will remain because a few benchmarks are not well suited for SQL benchmarking. From a quick look at the code for this PR this looks like it'll be one of those.
