@andygrove filed #6514 for native existence sort-merge joins, with the blocker (output buffering in DataFusion's `BitwiseSortMergeJoinStream`, from sunchao's [finding](https://github.com/apache/datafusion-comet/pull/4587#discussion_r4042586365)) and a note that Spark picks SMJ whenever the subquery side is too big to broadcast. I'll link it from the comment in `CometSortMergeJoinExec.convert` in a follow-up so this doesn't trigger another full label run.
