Would SchemaAdapter be a good place to implement this functionality? It already has knowledge of the required columns and file schema. We'd need piping around it (changes to TableProvider, Execs?) but at least implementing this as a user of DataFusion could be relatively self contained. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
