hello all, i'm completely new to gitorious, so please excuse my ignorance. i've been using github for several months as a remote code hosting service, and it has been working extremely well for development and collaborative writing. however, as we near the release phase of our projects, it has occurred to us that github doesn't really satisfy a few of our desirata. more specifically, my projects are statistical tools for neuroscientists. thus, our primary desirata for code hosting are: (1) not being scary for people that simply want to use our code, (2) nicely incorporates a wiki in which we can explain all of our stuff, (3) has a feature request/bug/forum built in. github satisfies none of those desirata. it seems to me as if gitorious does satisfies two of them, but not the last one. in my mind, it would be great if the tabs for each were: overview, repo's, wiki, AND issues. is such a thing in sight? if not, is there an easy work around that can nicely be integrated with everything else? even if this issue can't be solved for me in the near future, i think i'm likely to start using gitorious to host my projects. that being said, if google code hosting starts supporting git (and gitorious still doesn't have such a feature), then google would become a very enticing prospect.
many thanks for considering my words, j-love --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Gitorious" group.
