gnome-xml (also known as just libxml) does not depend on any other gnome
libraries (it doesn't even need glib).  It is as good a choice as any if
you want a real xml parser for the application.  The `I don't want to
install all the gnome libraries' excuse does not really apply here.

If the load/save code has to be rewritten, then libxml is probably a good
choice (there is already some load routines found in libglade).
