 FWIW, we don't have an earlier released version which we could use since
 GHC without a functioning NCG is practically unusable on Sparc T2. We can
 compile a bare-bones GHC with 6.8.2 but that takes about a day and is
 something we can only really do once. This means that we will be using a
 6.11 snapshot as our compiler until 6.12 is released. A similar situation
 will occur whenever someone ports GHC to a new architecture. Not
 supporting this doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
