While I'm delighted to have the option of ordering glasses from Zenni and have purchased 6 pair (so far), the frames definitely are not the same quality as the designer glasses I've purchased in the past from B&M stores. In addition, Zenni doesn't make progressives or bifocals in my prescription. It's a bit like the difference between a $5 t- shirt from K-Mart and a $50 t-shirt from a regular department store. When you look at styling, material quality, and fit, the $50 shirt will win--but sometimes all you need or want is a $5 shirt. I use my Zenni glasses when I'm painting the ceiling or swimming--i.e., doing something where I'm likely to damage or lose the glasses--and I leave spare distance glasses in my car, and spare reading glasses at the office. I prefer plastic frames (they generally work better for me given my high strength lenses) and the Zenni options have a "cheap" look to them--at least the ones in the $8 to $12.95 range do. Plus, one of the last pair I bought makes a funny cracking sound when I open and close the hinges, which makes me a little nervous. Despite this, however, I'm planning to order sunglasses from Zenni--there's no way I want to pay mega-bucks for glasses I'll probably end up losing when I fall out of a canoe, and I couldn't find any 2 for $99 For Eyes frames that I liked.
