Hi rd-- would you please share with me how you configured your prescription for single vision lenses for computer use? I have a very mild prescription (a little near-sighted, mild astigmatism, and an ADD of 1.5), but I get really bad eye strain. I wear progressives at the insistence of my optometrist. My script is: OD -.25 -.50 .28 ADD 1.5 OS -.25 -.50 172 ADD 1.5 I have tried readers on in WalMart and such, and I guess it's because of astigmatism, but they do NOT work for me. I teach and would REALLY like to have a pair of reading glasses for grading (and reading, of course) AND a pair for the computer. I get bad eye strain doing both activities and that's with my progressives on. I sit at the computer a LOT, typically about 24 inches away, which is further than what I need to read. My eye exam was about 3 weeks ago, and I've been researching and debating on where to purchase them. I can't keep paying $375.00 for them, that's for sure. I am considering getting my main progressive pair from Costco (MUCH more reasonable than my optometrist's office, and I get to try frames on), but I'd like to order a spare pair of progressives and readers from Zenni (or some online vendor). I'd love it if you could share how to figure out the reading and computer lenses (I assume this would be 2 separate pairs).
