I am using the drivewear photochromatic lens for my current lens. www.drivewearlens.com They actually work INSIDE a car. They do NOT go completely clear, but clear up enough to do ok if you must wear them as you go into a dark parking garage, or in my main application, in dark and shady woods for hiking and biking. They are polarized too, which is nice.
I am hoping to find them available online, because paying $500 for them at the local B&M was just plain ridiculous. I would say they are good as a general all-around pair of glasses for any outdoor activity, including cloudy days through to snow use. But NOT for your regular indoor use. I never liked the way standard photochromatic doesn't work in a car, and has issues with time delay and temperature and they decay over time in their reactivity. Otherwise my orange tint was my best previous compromise for all around outdoor use.
