Congratulations on finding GlassyEyes! I'm in much the same situation
as you - I'm just getting ready to buy my first pair(s) of glasses
online.

1) For lens thickness, you may find this calculator very useful:
http://www.opticampus.com/tools/thickness.php - put in your
prescription and it will tell you what thickness will result from each
index (1.57, 1.61, 1.67).

2) I think you just have to look at the fine print. Some kind of anti-
UV is included at Goggles4U, Zenni Optical and Optical4Less, though at
Optical4Less some lenses have "98% UV protection" and some have "100%
UV protection." I don't know one way or the other about other
retailers.

3) AR is antireflective...

4) ...and yes, I think it's the same as antiglare. I think it helps
if you spend a lot of time at a computer; your mileage may vary.

5) Most places (Zenni, Goggles4U, Optical4Less) go to 80%.

6) I didn't know that brown is better than gray... all the major
retailers do tinting in a variety of colors, but I can't answer you
about the opacity.

7) Never heard of this before. It sounds neat, though!

8) AV is "accomodative vergence" - I'm not too clear on what is
myself, but it has to do with differences between one's contact lens
prescription and one's eyeglasses prescription.

Good luck!
