No offense meant by this, but this sounds more like a "prestige" thing
than a cost or quality issue.
There's nothing wrong with the namebrands if that's what you're into,
and you can afford it. But, many here cannot afford such high prices,
or don't want to pay them even if they can. Personally, I'm of the
opinon that if I'm going to wear a company's name, they should be
paying *me* for advertising, not the other way around. Also, I believe
that *my* money should go towards improving *my* lifestyle, not to buy
someone else a 64 million dollar yacht.

and see the bloated empire overpriced eyeglasses have bought.

Sorry if I have offended you (or anyone else), but I know for a fact
that you don't have to pay bloated prices to get quality. And my 2004
Hyundai Sonata (Motor Trend's 2004 Car of the Year) is just an example
of that fact. In today's era of bloated corporate greed, you don't
always "get what you pay for".
