If I hadn't been without an income and in dire need of glasses, I
never would have tried Zenni Optical. Buyer beware. I was lured in by
the recent wave of positive feedback here about Zenni. But I didn't
read about any of these positive reviewers getting their glasses
double checked by an optical center, or their doctor, after the
arrival of their glasses to say that the prescriptions are all that
they should be.

My story:

Ordered two pairs of simple reading glasses with the exact same
prescription, in the exact same order. No tricky prescription. Just
reading ONLY.

Took over a month for the glasses to arrive - even though they are
super simple prescriptions and I was told it would be no more than 2
weeks.

The metal framed glasses smelled, badly, of something I can only
describe as commercial glue, or solvent, etc.

The plastic framed glasses have small rough spots just inside of the
nose area. Not super sharp, but it shouldn't be there.

Bad news: The prescriptions were different between the two - although
they should have been identical prescriptions. Worse news: Neither
pair of glasses seem to be totally right for my vision. Called Zenni,
they told me it would be strange for their manufacturers to make a
mistake when I ordered two pairs at the same time. So I doubted myself
after talking to them, and kept them for a while to keep testing. They
didn't get any better. I realized it wasn't just me, the glasses were
faulty. I sent the worst pair back first, and Zenni confirmed that
they "really messed up" my order and they'd remake them. It will be
another 2 weeks before they ship them to me.

Having doubts about the second pair, I took the prescription and the
glasses to another optical center in town. The optician was aghast at
how these glasses could be called a match for my prescription. And
this was the better pair of the two! This was the pair I thought I
could almost see correctly out of. Needless to say, I shipped these
glasses back today also.

So now I sit here waiting for glasses again. It is difficult to read
without squinting, so this time without proper eyewear is really
difficult. Like I said, if I hadn't been without an income, I would
have tried one of the other eyeglass company choices. I will never go
with Zenni again.
