Hi, I've been following this site for a few years now, and have bought
several pairs of glasses online from 5 different places now. At some
point I might get around to posting all of my experiences. But right
now I just kind of wanted to get a feel for what others think about my
current situation. Last week I ordered a pair glasses from 39dollar
for the first time. I ordered them Tuesday evening and received
notification they shipped on Wednesday, pretty darn fast. I have one
eye -5.75 and the other -8.75, ordered black metal frames and the
polycarbonate tinted lenses. I've been actually trying to get a new
pair of sunglasses online now for a few months, more on that later.

Anyway, I received the glasses on Saturday and opened them to find the
lenses were not tinted at all. Took them outside for a minute to
verify they were not transitions either, just normal clear lenses. I
emailed them right away and told them about the mix up. I received a
reply today that stated "You can return the glasses for inspection.
Once the inspection is complete we will contact you with the
findings."

Doh! I know what the findings are! My order says Tint: Grey, and my
glasses are not tinted. I replied and asked if I would be reimbursed
for the shipping as I do not feel I should have to pay return shipping
for something that wasn't my mistake. I also said I could take
pictures if it would help (no reply yet). Am I out of line for not
wanting to pay to send them back? I know it's not much, but it's the
principle I guess. Instead of getting sunglasses in 4 days, who knows
how long it will take now if I have to ship back and wait for an
inspection of the obvious. Any thoughts on what I should/shouldn't do?

Unfortunately I recommended 39dollar to a coworker last week, I guess
I should wait until I have a real world experience before recommending
a place...

I had originally ordered a pair of sunglasses from Goggles4u a few
months back with their 20% discount. I received the glasses after a
week and put them on and something wasn't quite right. After a while I
realized I had double vision. So I did some research and found out it
was most likely a mixup with the PD, same PD I used on other pairs
recently, so I know that was fine, but I also found some posts that
seemed to indicate this wasn't that uncommon to this retailer. I had
used them before for my most recent daily pair and was quite happy
with them. So I contacted them, and they told me to go ahead and order
a new pair and use a coupon code that would cover the price from the
original pair. They didn't have me return them or anything, just said
they would fix it. Now that was great.

Until I received the next pair and they had the same problem, not
quite as bad, but still not wearable. At the point I threw in the
towel and took it as a $45 loss and decided I wouldn't be orderring
from there anymore.

Seriously, all I want is a pair of sunglasses. Is it really that
hard??
