I don't have much to add (that was a pretty detailed explanation), but
I thought I'd give my two cents.

I'm currently in the midst of trying to find the "perfect" pair of
bold black plastic frames. I'm lucky enough to have about 5 pairs of
glasses around from the past to measure and get a feeling from. My
suggestion is get a hold of as many glasses as you can (old frames,
frames from family members) and put them on, see how they all sit on
the face, maybe take some notes and then measure the total widths. For
me, in terms of total width, this gave me a range of about 10mm to
work within.

With this information, I chose frame #4334 from Zenni. They're a bit
on the outskirts of my measurements, but I ordered them today. I'll
post again with my results in this experiment when I get them in.
