Hi Julia,

My prescription is an unusual one, OD-9.00 OS-4.50. Another family
member is OD-13.50 OS-11.75.

Between us, we've ordered a lot of glasses online. The prescription
in every pair of lenses from 39 Dollar Glasses, Coastal Contacts, and
Zenni has been spot on.

I have a wide head, and have noticed that Zenni and 39 Dollar seem to
have quite a few frames that are too narrow for me, but might be right
for you. Although my head is wide, the bridge of my nose is small and
narrow, so, like you, I need nosepads to get a perfect fit. Finding
frames with a narrow bridge is not always easy, but is worth the
effort. They not only fit better, but, as has been discussed in
another thread here, the lenses are better centered on your pupils,
and thus aren't as thick at the outside edge.

Coastal has many selections that appear to be designer closeouts, and
turn over frequently, so they may be worth checking more than once.

I splurged and bought one pair from http://www.coolframes.com/ and was
very pleased. The frames aren't cheap, but they have a large selection
of up-to-date and unusual designer frames at a discount. My 1.67 high-
index lenses (house-brand) with all coatings included, were $94, and
perfect. I chose a French-made Lafont frame for $250. For less than
$350, I got a handsome, unusual pair of glasses that would have cost
me well over $1000 at a high-end local boutique.

Good luck, and have fun shopping!

Eric
