I've never worked with G4U, but it sounds like they're at least trying to do right by you. I agree that it shouldn't take three (four?) tries to get it right, and I'm glad you have working glasses to wear in the meantime. I would say there's definitely a quality control problem at the plant, wherever it is.
As any manufacturing engineer will tell you, it costs at least ten times as much (and can be 100 times as much) to fix a problem after it leaves the plant.
