I posted a few months ago about a sort of negative experience with
Eyebuydirect. I have a high presecription(-8's) and had ordered some
1.74 high index glasses from them. I wasn't pleased with the lenses
at all, they seemed very thick and also oddly tinted, but the
prescription seemed pretty much okay, so I kept them for emergencies.
However, I have to rave about the comparative quality of
39dollarglasses.com. Yeah, they do take a long time to fill your
order. Yeah, their selection of frames is lacking. But I bought some
frames I liked on ebay and sent them to 39dollarglassses. All in all
it was a similar price, maybe a little more than eyebuydirect if you
include the price of the frames I sent them. But wow! Great quality
high index lenses! The frames I sent in were similar in size and
shape to the ones I had chosen from eyebuydirect, but the lenses from
39dollarglasses were so much thinner and the prescription seems just
right. Yes it took them about a month to ship the glasses back, but
for the price it sure beats what I have gotten from the places at the
mall. So I highly recommend 39dollarglasses!
